About: The Lens of Empathy

The Ethos

As a fine art photographer, I do not simply capture scenes; I unearth the city’s unseen soul. Through stark monochrome photography, I transform the familiar streets of Brisbane into profound narratives. My work is a practice of mindfulness—becoming utterly present to pierce through the mundane and capture the unspoken emotions that define the human condition.

By stripping away the distraction of color, I expose the visceral connection between the city’s rigid architecture and the quiet dignity of the people within it.

The Journey

My artistic vision is calibrated by a life of contrast. Marked by the challenges of ADHD and dyslexia, and a formative period of homelessness in my youth, my path was never linear. These experiences forged in me a deep empathy that led to a decade-long career as a mental health nurse.

In those ten years, I walked alongside individuals navigating the difficult road to recovery. I learned to find that quiet, perfect space of strength within a person, even in their darkest moments. Today, that same empathy guides my lens. I am no longer just an observer; I am a documentarian of resilience.

The Standard

My commitment to shattering silence and confronting stigma is matched by a dedication to technical excellence. Each piece I produce is museum-quality, designed to the highest standards for discerning collectors, galleries, and professional environments.

Ultimately, my photographs are more than art; they are a vital conversation. They offer an unfiltered window into lives often unseen, revealing the beauty and resilience within Brisbane’s depths while fostering crucial awareness for mental health and the human spirit.
